VALL Technologies is a Private Wireless Network company that designs, deploys, and manages custom private wireless network solutions.

Designing a private wireless network involves assigning PCI and Channel assignments to each sector in the network to minimize signal collisions between sectors. This process was typically time-intensive and highly manual, requiring up to 60 hours to do for a single network deployment. With VALL Technologies executing 20+ private cell network deployments annually, efficiency improvements could save 100's of labor hours per year.

Solution

Beyond Data Consulting designed and built a PCI/Channel Planning Tool for VALL Technologies. The tool enables users to upload private cell network deployment details (sectors, base stations, and their geographic coordinates), and automatically computes optimal PCI/Channel assignments. The tool also allows users to explore and profile potential signal collisions and export the generated plans.

Results

  • Improved Internal Efficiency: The PCI/Channel planning process was reduced from ~60 hours to ~2 hours.
  • Improved Network Performance: Automatically optimized PCI/Channel plans outperformed manually created plans in network performance simulations.
